Dearly
was born and raised in Zamboanga City, Philippines. She is the 5th child of 6 siblings.
One of the fondest memories she had growing up, was waking up on a weekend morning by her dad's call to gather around the table for breakfast.
She
always gets excited for breakfast every weekend because she knew her dad just got back from his major weekly trip to the public market. A public market we call "Magay", where her dad buys her and her siblings' their favorite "Kakanins" or rice desserts. Breakfast on weekends usually lasts 3 hours long, as her family enjoys sharing stories while eating a scrumptious breakfast.
Dearly
immigrated to the United States in year 2015, got married and started her own family. The adjustment period was not easy for her food wise, as she craves a lot of the Kakanins she used to enjoy.
The fond memories integrated by her family's love for Kakanins and traditional filipino foods, flourished Dearly's desire to seek authentic recipes of these Kakanins and other Filipino snacks and make them herself.
